Workbook no.10 in the CALLED TO CARE series is launched.

In a ground-breaking collaborative effort, the World Council of Churches and the World Health Organization have joined forces to launch Parenting: a Journey of Love.

This 56-page workbook, no. 10 in the CALLED TO CARE toolkit, is published by the STRATEGIES FOR HOPE Trust.  It is designed to inform, support and encourage parents of young children and adolescents, especially in countries where family life is being undermined by the AIDS epidemic.

Series editor Glen Williams speaking at the launch

Written from a Christian perspective, Parenting: a Journey of Love is structured around five ‘parental roles’ developed by the World Health Organization through a review of 34 projects from around the world.

The author of the book, Fulata Moyo PhD, is a Malawian theologian working as Programme Executive for Women in Church and Society at the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland.  Speaking at the launch of the book, Dr Moyo described how her personal experience of raising three sons led her to write the book.
