Skills Building Workshops at International AIDS Conference

Three experienced Stepping Stones trainers ran skills building workshops at the International AIDS Conference in Toronto, Canada, in August 2006.

About 75 people attended the workshop in the main conference; around 40 people attended the workshop in the relaxed setting of the Global Village.

Baron Oron (Network for Stepping Stones, Uganda) introduced each workshop with a Powerpoint presentation which you can download from the right-hand panel.  The participants then divided into three groups to go through selected exercises in the Stepping Stones manual.  Zahid Hossain (ActionAid Bangladesh) and Deborah McSmith (National AIDS Commission, Papua New Guinea) joined Baron Oron to facilitate these groups.  The group activities were followed by a lively question-and-answer session.

The photographs below show groups performing role plays as part of the 'Possible Futures' exercise (page 103 of the Stepping Stones manual) in the workshop held in the Global Village.
