STRATEGIES FOR HOPE has produced and distributed books and videos that document successful, innovative strategies of HIV/AIDS work by NGOs and community groups.
By Februry 2016 STRATEGIES FOR HOPE (SFH) had produced 30 books and 7 documentary videos. For the video What Can I Do? we have prepared a Facilitator’s Guide. We have also produced an award-winning training package, Stepping Stones, which includes a manual and a workshop video.
The materials are used for information, training, planning and advocacy purposes by a wide range of organisations and individuals, including churches, health institutions, NGOs, community groups, international agencies, women’s organisations, youth associations and organisations of people living with HIV/AIDS.
These materials have been distributed to over 160 countries, with most copies being supplied free of charge to organisations in sub-Saharan Africa. By February 2016, SFH had distributed nearly 1.2 million copies of its books, over 57,000 copies of its videos, and approximately 30,000 copies of Stepping Stones training manuals.
A unique feature of STRATEGIES FOR HOPE is its mailing list of over 16,000 addresses of organisations and individuals involved in HIV/AIDS-related work, including approximately 10,000 addresses in Africa. This helps the sfh to target particular groups in need of information and training materials.
In addition, by enabling SFH to maintain direct contact with the users of SFH books and videos, the database plays a key role in the process of monitoring and evaluating the use and impact of SFH materials.
